GETTING A HANDICAP AT RAVENMEADOW

All members are encouraged to get a handicap to make the most of your membership at Ravenmeadow. To get a handicap you need to submit 3 signed cards completed under normal stroke play rules. So no gimmies or picking up on any holes. You need to record your true score for the round. The person signing your card needs to have accompanied you round the course. They can either play with you or walk as a marker. On your card you need to mark which tees you played from. Handicap is based on how many over the course SS Standard Scratch you were. So if the course SS is 70 and you average 80 for the three rounds then you will be a 10 handicap. If you have an active handicap from your previous club this can be transferred to Ravenmeadow or you might choose to submit 3 cards to get a handcap accurate for Ravenmeadow. If you would like more information or would like to start getting your 3 cards together and need a marker please contact our Handicap secretary Duncan Carey on 01905 757525.

THE MEN'S SECTION

The mens section has a very healthy membership, with varying handicaps and ages. We play all our competition golf at weekends including team matches, trophy games, staplefords and monthly medals, fun events and of course lots of social golf. We are a very welcoming section that encourages any one to play for the Ravenmeadow mens team its based on first come first served gets in. The section is supported by a loyal members who are continually working with the management of the club to improve the mens section. Any new members are encouraged to get their handicaps and join us for some competitive but enjoyable golf at a very welcoming club with fantastic facilities. Mens captain: Simon Pitt Vice Captain: Dave Lamb

THE SENIOR'S SECTION

For those golfers who like a quiet life, a senior game can be found on most weekday mornings at Ravenmeadow Golf Club. A visit to the club or one phone call can find willing partners. If you would like a more active role, the monthly competiions are a great way to meet fellow members. This year we are also playing 20 club matches, not only against local clubs, but also teams like Knighton, an interesting course designed by Harry Vardon, and Cadmore Lodge a course with more than it's fair share of water hazards. Another well supported day on the Seniors fixture list are the "away" days. A days golf including breakfast and/or lunch at an intersting course with friendly competition offering members of our section a great day out.

THE LADIES SECTION

The Ladies section at Ravenmeadow is very friendly and invite you to join them for the Wednesday coffee morning where some Ladies take part in a group lesson followed by coffee and 9 holes of golf. Lady members are always willing to help new members get their handicaps or just to meet and be introduced to other ladies for social golf. The Ladies have social events during the year, the Christmas event is always very popular. The Ladies love just meeting up and playing golf but also have a full competition fixture list and we play a few freindly games with other Golf clubs within the area.

THE JUNIOR'S SECTION

The Juniors play most of their competitions on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and school holidays. Through 2010 the section is growing from strength to strength with the introduction of our new junior academy. For more information on the junior section or joining then please call Duncan Carey at Ravenmeadow Golf Club on 01905 757525
